Suzanne has been working on using the Shibori dying technique to make new
scarves and vests. She uses silk as a base material. The fabric is first
hand-dyed with a base color, then wrapped and tied on a pole, and compressed to
make the pleats. She then discharges the base color on the top of the pleats,
and overdye with a new set of colors. The fabric is then left to dry before it
can be unwrapped from the pole.
